Afilias India to provide enhanced technology for liberalization of .IN domain

DUBLIN, IRELAND – 20 December 2004 – Afilias Limited today announced that it's wholly owned subsidiary, Afilias India Pvt. Ltd., has signed an agreement with the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) to provide registry services for the .IN country code Internet domain. Afilias will assist NIXI in the creation of the .IN Registry to implement the recent liberalization of domain registration policies by the Indian Government's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, by broadening the domain's distribution channel, implementing new, state-of-the-art registry technology and enabling near real-time registration of new names.

On .INFO's Three-year Anniversary, the Domain Has Surpassed 1,500,000 Registrations.

DUBLIN, Ireland - 27 September 2004 - Afilias, a global provider of domain name registry services, today released a three year analysis of the .INFO domain in preparation for the third anniversary of live, real-time registrations on October 1. The domain, which is the most popular of the new TLDs that were launched in 2001, now has over 1,500,000 registrations, 71% of which are active sites, and over 460,000 dedicated INFO sites.

Afilias opened registration yesterday evening. As of 13:00 UTC (08:00 a.m. EST) on 17 March, over 13,000 German script IDNs were registered, the first of which was kinderbücher.info.

Düsseldorf, GERMANY - 27 January 2004 - Afilias, a global provider of Internet domain name registry services, announced Tuesday that it will launch the first standards-based registrations of German script internationalized domain names (IDNs) under the .INFO generic top-level domain (gTLD) on 26 February 2004. Registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and will enable the registration of Internet domain names that contain the widely used German script umlaut characters: "ä", "ö" and "ü".
