As part of Afilias' strategic investment in PostgreSQL and Slony, and in order to maximize service delivery to Afilias' business as well as for the benefit of the PostgreSQL/Slony community at large, the individual in this role will research design and implement, efficient high-performance reliable and scalable DBMS technology solutions for our DBMS and Replication systems, PostgreSQL and Slony.

 

The incumbent, who should be a well recognized member of the PostgreSQL community, will work closely with Afilias' Product Development, Registry & Application Services, Data Services, and Infrastructure groups. His or her three main duties will be to deliver top quality DBMS technology solutions to the Data Services department, to provide “Development DBA” services to the Application Development departments, and to participate in other Data Services projects as required.

 

NOC Operator supports the Afilias registry network monitoring team to assess Network Performance on a real time basis. You will directly report to the Network Operations Center Technical Lead.  Additional responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to; providing technical guidance to Afilias Customer Support Team, identifying and escalating Network Performance impacting events and supporting root cause analysis efforts.

Afilias is currently seeking a Support Associate, who will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving customer issues as they relate to Afilias registry services. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are a must.

The main purpose of this position is to support the firm's software, to act as an application specialist in the firm's application environment, and to provide expertise in managing systems and services.
